:) ;) ;p :D ;D >:|

| arleas | Nov 28, 2007 10:17am | I'm actually an introvert. Some might go as far as to say I'm a loner. It's not necessarily that I WANT to be alone, just that I'm fine with it. Usually if I MUST meet someone new, I'll at least try to be polite, but I rarely go farther than that.
Again, it's not that I hate meeting new people, it's just that as an introvert I am DRAINED by it. Meeting one person, fine. Meeting two, I'll deal with it. Meeting a whole group of people? Expect not to see me for a few days.
Most people take this as being rude, or aloof, or whatever adjective with a negative connotation you can think of. I'm just not the type to have a bajilion friends.
I've also met people who appreciate honesty, and I've met others who feel it's more important to be nice than it is to be honest. I'm of the opinion that it's more important to be honest, except where it does not matter.
If a stranger asks me "how was your day" I'll just answer fine to finish the conversation quickly. If a person more close to me asks, I'll tell them, even if it means explaining all the crap that went wrong that day. Needless to say, most people know better than to ask "How are you?" |
